UW-Madison Division of Extension has supported the legacy of Wisconsin lakes through education, communication and collaboration since 1986. Extension Lakes provides resources and training through the Wisconsin Lake Leaders Institute for members of lake organizations and those concerned about the future of our lakes.

Learn how you can become a Lake Leader

The 500+ lake groups in Wisconsin rely primarily on volunteers. Extension is currently developing programs to support lake organizations through training and support in these areas:

Strategic planning
Financial development
Membership support and engagement
Leadership development
Transition planning
